overview about the place This magnificent Baroque structure was designed by Christophe Dientzenhofer, and his son Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer joined the project in 1716. It serves as the home church of the Břevnov Parish and is the prominent architectural landmark of the Břevnov Monastery. St. Margaret is the primary patron saint of both the Břevnov Basilica and the parish. Her relics are currently housed in a small, richly gilded side altar in the presbytery dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
