October in the Botanical Garden traditionally belongs to pumpkins. This year too, pumpkins of all sizes, shapes and colours will fill the outdoor exhibitions. This year, the exhibition of pumpkins and pumpkin arrangements will take visitors to far-away Mexico. It will be dedicated to the celebration that Mexicans dedicate to all the dead and saints - Día de los Muertos. There will be a variety of ghosts, characters and motifs of this Mexican holiday. The show will traditionally be accompanied by a weekend programme for families with children. On the first weekend of 12 and 13 October, creative workshops with an autumn theme are planned. On the weekend of 19 and 20 October, visitors to the Troja garden will enjoy the Pumpkin Games. Before Halloween, on the weekend of 26 and 27 October, young and old can come together to carve pumpkins and make pumpkin lanterns for the upcoming Halloween parade through the Botanical Garden on Friday 31 October.
