overview opening hours program The Geography library of the Charles University Science Faculty was established in 1891. With its collection of 97,000 volumes it belongs among the largest resources in its field available in the Czech Republic. It is open to the public, with preferential access to students, staff and teachers of the Faculty. It comprises 130,000 maps, 2,000 atlases, 90 globes and 10,000 miscellaneous documents. One particularly interesting exhibit is the inflatable Cell paper globe of 1831, which folds down into a small box, 9 x 21 x 21 cm, but inflates to 113 cm in diameter.
