The permanent exhibition provides a comprehensive view of the artwork of Alfons Mucha (1860-1939), with the exception of his Slav Epic. Special attention is paid to his Paris period (1887-1904), when his most renowned work was produced. Here you can see a comprehensive set of posters, led by his most famous posters for Sarah Bernhardt, a set of characteristic decorative panels, a large sample of Documents Décoratifs (1902), and excerpts from his Parisian sketchbooks. Other decorative objects, sculptures and examples of book design are located in display cases. There is a special section featuring posters created later in Bohemia (1910-1939), drawings and oil paintings. Mucha’s relationship with Prague is not neglected – at the end of the exhibition is a glimpse into Mucha’s studio with original furniture, pictures of his family and a set of studio photos taken by Mucha in Paris. The exhibition also features a half-hour documentary about Mucha’s life and work.
