This exhibition offers a cross-section of the composer’s life and work. In an unusual visual concept, samples of Smetana’s manuscripts, correspondence and other contemporary written and pictorial documents, original paintings and personal items are presented. Special “scores” are devoted to Smetana’s key works with documents relating to their origins and destinies, placed on special music stands, which can be played from a conductor’s podium using a special laser baton to hear excerpts from Smetana’s works.
