Uncertain Situations is a follow-up on Five Uncertain Situations from 2022 and Two Uncertain Situations from 2023 and represents different approaches to the interaction of auditory and visual perception. Works from Prague City Gallery’s collections serve as the basis for new compositions by contemporary composers, which then “illuminate” the temporal perception of the artwork in a new way. In the exhibition spaces of Troja Château, a selection of works from the collections of the GHMP and new musical compositions responding to them will be presented in the form of recordings of compositions and a selection of their scores. The compositions will be performed by the Prague Quiet Music Collective under the artistic direction of Ian Mikyska. The exhibition will also be complemented by several works of art that explicitly work with sound and therefore represent the opposite approach to creating a musical work based on an existing visual work.
