The festival dedicated to the glory of the piano and the legacy of the greatest Czech pianist of the 20th century, Rudolf Firkušný, is an autumn event of the most famous Czech classical music festival – the Prague Spring International Music Festival, with which the personality of Rudolf Firkušný is closely associated. The 12th Rudolf Firkušný Piano Festival, which will take place from 2 to 9 November 2024, will offer five concerts by internationally renowned pianists Sir András Schiff, Chloe Jiyeong Mun, Alexander Melnikov, Ivo Kahánek and Jean-Efflam Bavouzet. Four concerts will take place in the Dvořák Hall of the Rudolfinum, one in the Bohuslav Martinů Hall at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague on Lesser Town Square. Among others, the works of Claude Debussy, Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Fryderyk Chopin, Bedřich Smetana, Alexander Scriabin and Alfred Schnittke will be performed.
